If you're feeling a bit behind, please don't worry. We an either pick up a few pieces over the weekend , or just get things done quickly early next week ... It's all good!
Today we're working on content creation, but let's also sneak in a little bit of social too? I'd also like to include some email templates for a "launch" if you're up for it!
Day 2 Assignments (There are only 3)
1 - Pick one things that sort of scares you
If you're anything like me, there will be something about creating this digital product that scares the pants off you...Well, maybe it's just me. But maybe you feel like your tech skills aren't developed enough to tackle part of this. Or, maybe you're struggling with "who am I to create this?". Or, you're just worried that it's way too much to handle in such a short time span...
All of this is "normal"... I mean, it really is a short time span, right? And, maybe none of us are "good enough" (or maybe we are?) and there probably will be a tech challenge here or there...
But, it won't break you! I promise.
This step will do 2 things:
* It will help you stay focused, so that you can complete the challenge
* It will help you write your sales copy next week
So, for today, spend 5-10 minutes writing down the thing that are scaring you a bit (even if you don't want to admit them outloud). Writing it down (or even typing) can help calm your mind.
Then, flip over the page (or open a new document on your computer) and write down who you want to help with this product, and how it will help them. Not the number of videos, or checklists you have, but how will it make a difference in their life?
Will they have more time to spend with their family? Will they save money that they can put towards their children's education? Will it help them sleep better at night?
If you have trouble with coming up with benefits that your customers will receive from buying your product (and many of us do), please come through to the forum and ask for help.
Troubleshooting - FAQ's
If you're reading this forum, but not able to respond or start a new message, double check that you're already logged in to http://loraleehutton.com.
(I've changed the settings so that you can stay logged in up to one year (well, to be honest, I made that change for me, but hopefully it helps you too)
If you're already logged in to loraleehutton.com and still see the login button on the top right corner of this page, just click the login button once, and it should pull through your login info.
If you have any trouble at all, and you use Facebook, please ask me or another member for help there. Or, reply to any email from me.
(If things go sideways with Discourse, we'll move things over to the FB group - but I'm crossing my fingers and toes that I'll be able to work out the bugs this week)
2 - Post on Social Media
Did you feel a bit squeamish about sharing on social media yesterday? You're not alone. What should I share? What if I don't finish? What if no one is interested?
Here's some quick ideas of things you can share, without having to worry about anything else.
- a quick snapshot of the corner of your notebook, or laptop, or a pad of paper, giving a tiny glimpse into the work you're doing.
- a picture of a cup of tea, with a tiny doodle on a napkin (some of the best business ideas come from a napkin - why not?)
- a picture of a note your wrote to yourself on the bathroom mirror
- a picture of a book related to the topic that you're building your product around
- a picture of the walk you took today, because you needed a break from working on your new product idea.
It really doesn't need to be anything complicated... just share what you're up to... it will help later.
3 - Share your Interest List Form (landing page)
If you haven't yet, please share your landing page with us.. and if you feel like you can, include it in one of your social media shares. If you don't feel ready, that's okay too. Just keep it handy for Monday.
Please don't get hung up on this step! If you're stuck, ask for help early!!
What's coming up?
We're taking the weekend off officially, but I'll keep my eyes on the forum, and I wouldn't be surprised if a few people pop in over the weekend with some updates
August 4th Day 1 (today) we'll get product ideas sorted out & get started creating
August 5th Day 2 (Friday) I'll ask you to share your new landing page / place where you're building your interest list (with us, and your own community). And, we'll dig into building the digital product.
(weekend off - or time for catchup, if you need it)
August 8th Day 3 (Monday) we'll work on your sales page, and keep building the product.
August 9th Day 4 (Tuesday) we'll find people to test the ecommerce to make sure buy buttons work, and look for any obvious problems in the course layout - and we'll keep working on the product itself, if needed.
August 10th Day 5 (Wednesday) we'll promote our new product to our online communities, provide customer support, ask for feedback, and implement changes, as needed.
Here's a quick link to the PDF that sums up this accelerated version of the challenge. You can do these steps in any order you'd like (including following them one by one) - you don't have to follow along with the outline above...
You can also get this pdf and any of the other checklists, via my teachable school.
I've made the pages "public preview" so that you don't need to log in, during this challenge week. But it will be closed off again after the challenge is completed (I'll give you access, but you'll need to log in, in the future)
If you have any trouble getting into the forum, or into the Facebook group, please reply to this email message and I'll do my very best to fix it for you today.
I really appreciate your help in deciding if this forum software will be a good solution long term, but I really don't want it to stand in the way of you creating something amazing... So, I'll do whatever I can do to help you keep focused on creating, okay?
If you're taking the weekend off as well, "see you on Monday"...
Thank you for being here with me...
See you soon!
